I don’t respect the beliefs of people whose holy book justifies murder, rape, slavery, bigotry, infanticide, child abuse, genital mutilation, and genocide. I respect their right to believe whatever they want to believe or whatever they were indoctrinated into, but don’t ask me to respect the beliefs themselves. Try reading the Bible (the whole thing) before you tell me that I’m judging the people who believe in it too harshly. This is my judgment: they are delusional. There’s nothing ironic about it.
